Ingo Fischer was able to aquire inexpensively a water cutting machine (originally 120.000EUR). The control had become outdated and it had difficulties to illustrate the numerical control programs in the desired speed and precision. For the necessary retrofit the engeneer looked on the market, visited fairs and discussed with control manufacturers. He discovered that he could make a high-quality retrofit for only 6.000 EUR instead of the expected 12.000.

His choice fell on PC-cards and servo motors of Metronix, which are controlled by TRIMETA'S EdiTasc software via a CAN open bus.

For two axes the controling intervals of the CAN open bus are enough” says the engineer, "and in addition, the concept - replacing hardware by software - pleased me."
